8th World Football-Tennis Championship
Dear football-tennis fans,We are delighted to welcome you to our website, which will provide you all the information you need regarding the great football-tennis event – the Men’s World Football-Tennis Championship! The Czech Republic will host this event for the third time – the town of Nymburk will be the venue this year, after the tournament was held in Prostějov in 2000 and 2004. We are committed to carrying on the organizational success of these previous two events and are confident that we will present our fantastic sport at its very best.
The championship will be held at the ČEZ Sports Hall in Nymburk, which is part of the Nymburk Sports Centre as well as the home of the five-time champions of Czech basketball – the Nymburk Lions.
The championship will be held 21-23 November 2008.
The main patron of the tournament is Olympic record holder Jan Železný, a frequent recreational player of football-tennis; he will fully support our team until the final whistle. Nymburk Mayor Ladislav Kutík is another patron of this remarkable event. We thank both of these gentlemen for their generous support!
This website offers comprehensive information concerning the championship program, ticket sales, transportation, accommodations, refreshments, etc.
We also offer interviews with sports and public personalities, players, trainers and other interesting people from the world of football-tennis.
Additional interesting information is the fact that Czech Television will broadcast the tournament live for at least two hours on Sunday, the final day of the championship.
We have also prepared for you an e-shop, where you can purchase caps, replica national team uniforms, posters, player cards, and more. All of these products bear the logo of the world championship. In the event that tickets are sold out we have prepared to simulcast the semi-final and final matches on a large screen in the large hall at the Nymburk Sports Centre; a restaurant will also be open at this site for the duration of these broadcasts.
This is the introductory information that we wanted to provide you and we trust that it will be interesting for you to follow this website on a regular basis.
We look forward along with you to this remarkable sporting event!
